What we do
We provide direct support to the survivors of the Troubled Teen Industry (TTI)
Education
Our goal is to provide educational options for Survivors. Including but not limited to GED training and testing, home repair courses, cooking classes, and financial literacy education.
Awareness
We aim to bring awareness to the public regarding the Troubled Teen Industry, the unique experience of the institutional abuse survivor and how they can help.
Support
Supporting survivors in whatever capacity they may need, including but not limited to providing mental health, social community, and financial resources.
What is the
Troubled Teen Industry?
The Troubled Teen Industry (TTI) spans various programs and facilities across the United States and abroad, targeting behavioral issues and mental health challenges in adolescents. However, widespread reports indicate pervasive abuse and mistreatment within these environments. Survivors often recount enduring physical, emotional, and psychological harm, including harsh discipline, forced isolation, neglect, and assault. These traumatic experiences leave lasting scars such as PTSD, depression, and anxiety. Post-program, survivors face daunting challenges in rebuilding their lives. Financially, disrupted education and limited job opportunities contribute to economic hardship. Educationally, catching up academically is challenging, with few resources for further education or vocational training. Additionally, there is a severe lack of trauma-informed therapies and resources to support survivors in processing their experiences and healing. Recognizing these systemic deficiencies underscores the critical need for comprehensive support systems to aid survivors in their recovery and facilitate their successful reintegration back into society.

Honoring the ones we’ve lost along the way.
To date, it is estimated that more than 350 children have died in residential programs. This number is rapidly increasing due to the industry’s improper practices and unethical treatment of youth. Often, children die of medical neglect, restraint and suicide. Even after leaving these programs survivors struggle with the lasting trauma and many have tragically taken their own lives. Today we honor these victims and strive to provide support to prevent further loss of life.
